Brian Hession is the President of Oceanos Marketing and co-founder of Bentley Promotions. Brian has been working in the direct marketing industry for over ten years, and considered a leading list expert. Prior to launching Oceanos Marketing, Brian held marketing positions within Talbots’ catalog department, Protocol (formerly Dickinson Direct), and Digitas as a marketing operations specialist on the Delta Airlines account.
Brian holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Boston University. His other educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a
certificate degree in Direct Marketing, both from Bentley College. He has studied at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, and within Boston University's International Management Program in Kobe, Japan.
In 2003, Brian was
named of the "Most Successful Direct Marketer Under 30," established by the New England Direct Marketing Association. In 2006, Oceanos Marketing was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as its 5th Fastest Growing Private Company. In 2007, Oceanos was named to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Recently, Brian was selected as an expert advisor for the 2008 MarketingSherpa 3rd Annual Email Summit. |

Ken Pope is the veteran list broker on the Oceanos team. Over his career, Ken has assisted hundreds of mailers
to develop and implement highly successful new customer acquisition programs. Formerly, he was the Director of New Membership Acquisition for the United Christian Evangelistic Association, where he successfully managed a direct marketing program which mailed over 3.5 million acquisition letters annually.
Prior to UCEA, Ken served as List Services Manager at a major New England direct mail service company providing list consulting to fundraisers, financial services, educational institutions, and all types of b-to-b and b-to-c mailers. Ken has also held management positions with several prestigious list companies, including Database America, Karl Business Lists, and Mal Dunn Associates.
At Oceanos, Ken works with major healthcare, financial services, education, retail, fundraising and other consumer and business to business clients. He also works very closely with our advertising agency and marketing services partner companies.

Frank
serves as the Chief
Financial Officer,
bringing over fifteen
years of financial
and risk management
expertise to Oceanos.
Previously, Frank
served as Executive
Director of the
Old Colony YMCA
and managed annual
budgets in excess
of six millions
dollars. During
his tenure with
the YMCA, Frank
oversaw a 480% increase
in revenues while
returning a constant
8-10% annual surplus.
At Oceanos, he has
successfully implemented
a financial framework
to effectively manage
rapid growth, employee
expansion, and cash
flow requirements.
His tie to the local
angel investing
community has provided
Oceanos with the
capital resources
to support its fast
paced growth.
Frank holds a Bachelor's degree in political science from Temple University and a Master's Degree in Economics from Boston University. Franks also serves as an adjunct professor of business communications at Boston University. |

Patrick Flaherty |

Operations Manager |

As operations manager, Patrick is responsible for directing the IT and systems administration, accounting software, and operations functions across Oceanos as well as its sister companies Bentley Promotions and Lighthouse Data Processing.

Patrick oversees the reporting and accuracy of all financials, working directly with the President, CFO and CPA to develop annual operating and capital budgets. He is responsible for the translation and implementation of data-related programming solutions for direct marketing applications including the proprietary Oceanos KnowledgeBank database.
Prior to joining Oceanos, Patrick founded and managed a web design firm specializing in Flash Design. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brown University.

Eric Newell |

Eric has been actively involved with Oceanos and its sister companies since inception. He played an instrumental role in establishing Oceanos as the country’s premier list consulting firm, validated by its placement on the Inc 500 list as their 362 fastest-growing U.S. private company.
Eric manages several of the firm’s key strategic accounts ensuring their marketing investments are properly aligned with campaign objectives and success metrics. Having played a key role in shaping the company’s unique differentiator – List Intelligence™ – , his campaign strategies are metric driven but balanced with creativity. Eric plays a pivotal role in managing the firm’s vendor relationships and expansion. He reports directly to the firm’s president.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Suffolk University. He is actively involved in the American Marketing Association Boston Chapter. Eric is an active singer/songwriter on the Boston music scene. His music is available on iTunes.

Holly’s core responsibilities include audience research, strategic planning and program execution for several key accounts. Prior to Oceanos, she held positions within Putman Investments and Federated Financial Services. Her financial background has been leveraged to support campaign measurement activities, ensuring her client’s marketing investments are effectively allocated across the media portfolio.
Holly holds a finance and economic degree from Simmons College and has completed graduate work at UMASS Boston.

Kate Gubata |

As Corporate Communications Manager, Kate oversees the company’s wide range of publications, both print and electronic, from sales proposals to press releases. Kate’s experience in education and writing combines both the creative approach necessary to successful marketing as well as the technical knowledge of how best to communicate the company’s work to its clients.
Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from Brown University and two Master’s degrees from Simmons College. Her article, “The New Feminism,” was published in the 11th and 12th editions of McCuen and Winkler’s Readings for Writers (New York: Heinle, 2004, 2006.).

Fred is a list consultant on the Oceanos team. Fred has spent over forty years in the direct marketing industry spending twelve years as the Manager of List Services at Dickinson Direct, where he developed targeted list strategies for many of New England's largest companies. Fred is a frequent writer for the marketing publication Direct.
